Patches and Utilities

Various patches and additions have been set up for SPICE3f5. Each comes with a patch script that can be used to apply the patches. The script files also contain comments on the purpose of each patch, which are sumarised below. All the patches are contained in a tar file (77 KB) that should be expanded in the spice3f5 directory. Individual files can be viewed via http.

PS MESFET - JFET Model

The PS model PS model is a comprehensive description of junction FETs suitable for analog circuit simulation. Brief documentation is psfet.pdf
The code for this model is contained in a single file, psmodel.c, which should be glued to a simulator by editing the header file psmodel.h. If the psmodel.c file is not changed then it will be easy to incorporated updates and corrections. The PSmodel in also included in WinSpice, MWOffice, and PSPICE (follow links below).

Berkeley Code

The CAD group in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California Berkeley provide source code for their release of SPICE. The latest version, with some minor patches, is 3f5, though the code announces 3f4. The online help is a replica of the user manual for version 3f3, which is available in postscript format.
The source is also available from here A complete set of the above source with patches installed and the user manual is in the following archives OR can be assembled from the following UCB CAD Group Software links
